The Most Boring Post Ever

I rode 9.2 miles today. With my son. So I was in my… highest? Lowest? Uh, easiest gear the whole time, keeping as high a cadence as possible, which is easy trying to keep up with a seven-year-old in a Saxobank jersey.

In other news, my Trek Incite computer died (I think I mentioned that) at 1655 miles. I will not get to see it changed to 2000. I had to get a new one, and got this lousy Bontrager (I mentioned all this, too, didn’t I?) that I hate. In fairness to Bontrager, it’s not that thing operates poorly, it does exactly what it was built to do.

I just don’t like the design, nor the buttons, nor the interface.

I’m going to save money for the Garmin one named after Bono’s guitarist.

Lastly, yesterday was Livestrong Day across the country. We were all supposed to wear our Livestrong colors and promote the fight against cancer. I got an email from Livestrong asking me to attend one of the many Livestrong Day Events that were taking place around the country. I clicked on the link, entered my zip code and found that Dick’s Sporting Goods was having a Livestrong Day event at their store less than a mile from my house. I registered to attend the event, which was to go from 9:30am to 6pm.

On Saturday, my entire family walked into Dick’s wearing our yellow Livestrong shirts.

Apparently, Livestrong failed to notify Dick’s Sporting Goods that they were having a Livestrong event at their store. Not only was there nothing going on at all in or outside the store, but not one employee knew anything about any event, Livestrong or otherwise.

So we walked around for a while and bought a pack of football cards.

This ends the most boring post ever.

Eat better.

Ride your bike.

Lose the gut.

Fair winds and following seas, Willy

  1. Sounds like a great day with your son – hardly a boring post! 🙂

  2. Yeah—agreed—I have read more boring posts. By the way… let me know when you want to get your Garmin. I get a super-delicious sponsorship deal.
